Hi, my name is Frank DuMar, and I'm CEO of Cleaver International and founder of Leadership Tools. I'm starting this blog because, as a long-time professional in management and leadership development, and as an entrepreneur, I believe we need to bring outdated leadership development practices into the 21st century. I want to share insights and tools, spark a dialogue, and inspire leaders to grow and change beyond out-dated expectations.
For myself. . .
I'm committed to creating innovative ways of using technology to train and develop as leaders. As part of this dialogue, I invite your direct, honest and open-minded feedback. Challenges I'm facing as a leader include ~
- delegation
- letting my complaints stand in the way of my success
- matching the right people to the right jobs
- creating job standards for success
- playing it too small
- making decisions with integrity
- voicing my vision
- . . . and a lot more.
Ask yourself. . .
Because my goal as a leader in management development is to inspire people to grow, I hope this blog challenges you - as a leader - to develop and grow. I hope you'll consider the questions I'm asking and take up the challenges I pose. I won't ask you to deal with anything I haven't dealt with myself in my own development. Here's a favorite quote I try to live by from a phenomenally influential 20th century leader:
"The essence of all growth is a willingness to change for the better and then an unremitting willingness to shoulder whatever responsibility this entails."
~Bill Wilson, Co-Founder of Acoholics Anonymous
Are you a leader who's willing to change for the better today?
Your challenge. . .
Take responsibility for one thing you're having a hard time owning up to today. Don't make a big deal out of it. Just do it.
Looking forward to this!
Frank
